Meapa Invitational Results

1066 Gymnastics had a successful outing at the Meapa Invitational competition. Over 25 gymnasts attended and represented the club.very well.

Isabelle White perform well in the novice 8 years senior gaining a total score of 13.500. She scored 6.700 on vault and 6.800 on floor.

In the novice girls 6-7 years category Eden Travers gave clean routines and was called in at 6th place scoring 6.350 on vault and 6.850 on floor for a total of 13.200. In the same age group Charlotte Dawson competed very well in her first competition and scored 5.800 on vault and 6.550 on floor which totalled 12.350.

Scarlett Darlington and Evie Wilkinson competed in the novice 8 years junior group. They both competed well and Darlington scored 6.000 on vault and 6.750 on floor achieving a total of 12.750, whilst Wilkinson earned a bronze medal after competing clean routines and getting a total score of 13.450 for scoring 6.600 on vault and 6.850 on floor.

In the novice 10 years Rebecca Wojcik scored a total of 12.950, scoring 6.400 on vault and 6.550 on floor. Her neat routines gained her 6th place.

Some excellent results were achieved in the novice girls 9 years category. Amber Offord, Chloe Lee and Bethany Newman all impressed with their strong and clean routines which placed them all in the top 6 in a very large category. Newman came in 6th place with a total score of 14.200 after her floor scored 7.200 and her vault 7.000. Lee scored 7.400 on floor with a clean routine and 6.850 for her vault giving her a total of 14.250 and fifth place. Offord scored 7.050 on vault and 7.600 on floor which was also awarded the highest floor score in that age category. She scored 14.650 and took the gold medal.

There were also some great results in the novice 11-12 years category. Emma Newbury came in 6th place with a score of 13.800. She scored 6.700 on vault and 7.100 on floor. Her team mate Grace Bray scored 6.650 on vault and 7.400 on floor. This gave her a total score of 14.050 and 4th place. Lily-Beth Harley did extremely well at her last competition with the club. She came away with a bronze medal after scoring 7.000 on vault and 7.100 on floor for a total of 14.100. Gabriela Sheldon-Brown scored 6.900 on floor and 6.750 on vault for a total of 13.650.

Three boys entered the 7-10 years novice category. They all worked hard and achieved a good set of scores. Stanley Tattam gained a total score of 11.050 after he scored 6.050 on vault and 5.000 on vault. Anthony Winstanley scored 6.000 on vault and 6.000 on floor for a total score of 12.000. Luke Griffin came in 5th place with a total score of 13.200 after he scored 6.300 on vault and 6.900 on floor.

At intermediate level, in the 7-8 years group, Alara Goss-Davies competed well and scored 6.400 on vault and 7.100 on floor and gained a total score of 13.500. Belle O’Farrell was in the 9-10 years age group and performed very well considering she has been having a few complications due to injury. She scored a total of 13.150 after picking up 6.150 on vault and 7.000 on floor.

Ellie McDonald competed in the 11-14 years ‘A’ category. She competed extremely well and came away with the gold medal and the highest floor score in her age group of 8.200. She also scored 6.550 on vault to finish with an impressive total of 14.750.

Amy Western appeared in the 11-14 years ‘B’ category, performed clean routines and gained a total score of 14.100 after scoring 6.700 on vault and 7.400 on floor. This was her first time competing at intermediate level and she did very well.
On the second day of competition all the advanced level gymnasts competed. Max Curd appeared in the boys 9-13 years category. He came away with a bronze medal after solid performances which saw him achieve 6.600 on vault and 8.150 on floor for a total score of 14.750.
In the girls 12-14 years age group Sophie Southouse, Emily Cole and Reanna Standley-Cooper all competed strongly. Southouse and Cole came away with a joint bronze medal and a total score of 15.600. Cole scored 6.950 on vault and 8.650 on floor whilst Southouse scored 6.850 on vault and 8.750 on floor. Standley-Cooper placed 4th with some great scores for her first competition with the club; 6.750 on vault and 8.200 on floor for a total score of 14.950.

Kyah Ovenden earned the bronze medal in the 13-14 years category after she scored 7.850 on vault and 8.400 on floor which gave her a total score of 16.250. In the advanced 10-12 years group Hannah Wood and Macy Ring all performed extremely well. Ring gained a total score of 15.750 and 4th place for scoring 7.550 on vault and 8.200 on vault. Wood performed some brilliant routines and scored a massive total of 16.200 earning her the gold medal in her age group . Wood’s floor score of 8.400 and her vault score of 7.800 also saw her take away the awards for highest floor and vault scores in her age group.
