Meapa Floor & Vault Competition

Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May saw 31 gymnasts from 1066 compete at the Meapa Floor and Vault competition in Gravesend.  For many, this was their first time competing gymnastics.

On the Saturday, in the Girls and Boys Novice 8-9 years old category Yunnus Eshehh-Alonso came in the top six placing fourth with a score of 13.00.  Rory Rankin scored a combined total of 11.90.

In the Girls and Boys Novice 7-8 years category Henry Blackwell had a top six placing scoring 14.05. Zane Miles scored 13.10.

The Boys Novice 7-9 year old category saw James Rusthton placing fourth with a score of 13.70.  Salvador Winstanley scored 13.25, Jude Van Wyk 13.20 and Caedmon Myeni scored 12.95.

In the Girls Novice 10-11 years category Sophia Hawkins finished fifth with 13.40, Sophie McEvoy scored, 13.10, Tia Bassett scored 12.30 and Savannah Lawrence scored 11.50.

The Girls Novice 8 & 9 years saw Mia Veness score 14.40, Sophie Taylor 14.05 and Bridget Honey 13.70.

The Girls and Boys 12-14 years Intermediate category had Georgie Howard come fifth scoring 15.70 followed closely behind by Georgia Pamphillon coming sixth scoring 15.65.

In the Girls and Boys 11 years Intermediate category, Joshua Hirst came away with the Gold scoring 15.85, with Summer Murphy scoring 14.60.

In the final round on the Saturday, Isabelle White represented in the Girls Intermediate 10 years senior category and scored 13.80, while in the Intermediate junior category, Florence Payne and Anais Pelczarski came joint Silver scoring 14.25 with Madison Buck and Evie Wilkinson coming joint fifth scoring 13.55.

In the Girls and Boys 9 years Intermediate group, George Bune came fifth scoring 15.30, Charlotte Dawson scored 15.00 and Thomas Weakley scored 14.60.

Sundays competition started with the Girls Advanced 11 years senior – 12 years; Holly Putland scored 14.40 and Amber Offord scored 14.35.  In the Girls Advanced 10 & 11 years category, Maya Goodwin came fourth scoring 14.65.

The competition weekend finished for 1066 with the Girls Advanced 2, 11-15 years category and Hannah Turner finished in Silver medal position scoring 15.20.

Well done to all the gymnasts that competed and a big thank you to coaches Luke, Harry, Josh and Christina that took them out.
